Ode to Wetlands
Wetlands are the lungs of the earth and the nourishment for all things. They stretch boundlessly, with lush water plants. Fish swim in the shallow waters, and birds gather and soar through the clouds. The scenery of wetlands is like a fairyland. In the morning, mist lingers, and in the evening, the setting sun reflects on the waves. With the changing of the four seasons, each has its unique charm.
In spring, wetlands are full of vitality. New green buds burst forth, and the water ripples gently. Migratory birds return from the south, singing loudly. Reeds sway, as if welcoming distant guests; the green cattails are like a green carpet. Fish leap out of the water, creating ripples; the croaking of frogs plays a spring melody. This is the spring of wetlands, where all things come back to life and thrive.
In summer, wetlands are flourishing. Water plants are abundant, and lotus flowers bloom. Dragonflies skim the water, and butterflies flit about. Water birds build nests and multiply; fish and shrimp play, leisurely and content. The summer of wetlands is full of greenery and vitality, like an ink - wash painting, making people feel relaxed and happy.
In autumn, wetlands are a sea of gold. Reeds sway, and cattails turn yellow. Migratory birds fly south, their calls melodious. The water is calm, as smooth as a mirror; the sky is high, the clouds are thin, and the wind is gentle and the air is fresh. In the autumn of wetlands, a good harvest is in sight, with fruits hanging in clusters, fish fat and crabs delicious, presenting a peaceful scene.
In winter, wetlands are quiet and serene. Snow covers everything, and the water surface is frozen. Migratory birds have left, leaving only silence. Reeds turn brown, and cattails wither. However, the soul of the wetlands still remains. Under the ice, the water flows, and fish hide in the depths. Waiting for the return of spring, they will show their vitality again. Although the winter of wetlands seems desolate, it contains vitality, waiting quietly for spring to come back.
Wetlands are the treasures of the earth and the ecological barriers. They conserve water sources, regulate the climate, purify water quality, and give birth to all things. The beauty of wetlands cannot be fully described in words; the virtues of wetlands cannot be exhausted by writing. May people cherish and protect them, so that wetlands will exist forever and bring benefits to future generations.
This is an ode.
